This reminds me of the work of Horace Pippin. Look at some of his work. It is kind of "primitive" in nature, since he was self-taught in art. It deals with things that are familiar to him. Faith Ringgold does the same thing in quilting. You could look at her work too. The playful composition with everything floating around and the bright colors make this a fun piece to explore. I think you might like doing more of these. Well done.
This will be "Art 4 Central" for you. I will expect to hear from each of you on a regular basis. Assignments will be posted here. Updates of interest will be popping up when necessary. We can talk about art questions or problems. (Really we can talk about anything; I want some fun vacation reports as well.) You will be asked to post your work to share with the group. I want both imagesand text. You will be posting feedback for your peers' work too. There will be grades given in the fall for your level of participation. This is a great way to get a jump on your portfolio for next year. So be sure to check in on a regular basis!
